This is a post from another group, from someone who took part a few months ago:
Well I got to the studio at 12 noon, wardrobe checked that my carefully chosen shirt was suitable, it was (phew I had no other) and then an hour and a half wait in the dressing room for contestants, 7 per room.
I was nervous to say the least but reassuring as all the others were as well, even some of the contestants partners seemed nervous.
The call came at 1.30, ''are you all ready'' everyone reluctantly said yep.
Anybody would have thought we were lambs going to the slaughter instead of trying to win a dream holiday.
As we filed into the studio a lot of wows as we all see the surrounds of the studio, for many of us this was the first glimpse at a tv studio in real, the set was smaller and more compact than I imagined but it was a powerful scene.
Our parners were shown to the audience section, our partners were in fact the only audience, we were then given our numbers I was 45 so we all made our way to the seat allocated and i scanned at the computer equipment that was now at my fingertips.
After being told the rules by the producer and a few jokes to calm our nerves by the resident warm up man we were joined by Philip Schofield, a few questions to practise and at 2.30 it was the show for real, by now you will have realised that Winning lines is recorded, with the live lottery draws simply added in after.
Good news, I was not eliminated in the first round and even got the final answer correct
Bad news, I just wasn't quick enough so did not qualify for next round, but was very pleased I did not get any questions wrong.
After the wonderwall that the nice lady won a trip for Hawaii, it was now 5pm and the show was a wrap.
After a complimentary lunch we were on our way home by 6.30pm.
Overall after a nerous start We had a great day and met some really nice people and would do it all again if my numbers ever come up again.
