Hi
Watching National Lottery Winning Lines tonight, I noticed Pip Schofield didn't mention that it was a roll-over, this kinda confirmed what I already knew that the Wonderwall section ispre-recorded,probably after the Saturday edition, and they just invite the weeks winner back to do start the Lottery draw, which is why you never see Schofield near the machines mid-week.

Does anyone else agree??

Yeah, its indeed most likely recorded straight after the Saturday finishes. They probably could do it live, but it would probably just cause more work then they need to.

Although I know its recorded, its a lot less obvious that other things which claim to be live.

Unfortunately, Winning Lines has mentally scarred me for life. I cannot watch any National Lottery draw without waiting for the blatantly pre-recorded laughter and applause. Do we ever see the audience? Nope.

I think every part of Winning Lines is pre-recorded, except for the draw itself and parts that relate to the numbers. Notice how Phillip Schofield sneakily disappears before the draw ends - to make a seemless transition between live and recorded.

NOTHING IS REAL!! IT'S A CONSPIRACY!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually I always thought that he dissappeared so he could be in the right place to do the final part of the show. If itturns out that most of it is recorded, does this mean that Phil is hanging around waiting to do the live bits??

And are the telephonists sitting in the same seats as the contestants??

PS I think the music is great, especially the Wonderwall music.

Its obvious that the first bit is recorded- one minute its the contestants in the seats, the next minute its operators answereing phones!

The reason I asked was, I'm sure in the first series with Simon Mayo he showed both the contestants on one bit and the phone operators in a nother part of the studio. But thinking about the end of the show they are in the same place so I am just having a stupid moment!

I willnow shut up!Very Happy

Boring request, but I've never seen anyone mention it before so I'll ask anyway - but does anyone possess an MP3 of any of the winning lines or national lottery music beds, or the Lottery Jetset music?

I remember seeing on someone's website (someone who'd been to practically every variation of the lottery show ever made) that sections of Red Alert were recorded the previous week because it was so complicated.

When will the BBC stop bothering to create formats around the Lottery Draw ? Nobody cares, all they want is the numbers to be drawn, although I will admit, Winning Lines is probably the best Lottery show there has ever been.

Yeah, I would also like the music, especially the Winning Lines, but I suppose this would be difficult! Can anyone help us?

With you there, ite the sort of thing ITV would kill for it would save them over running programmes! Wink Also the Brian Connely one was good 'We've got your number'(I think) it was relatively short and had a bit of fun in it.

There was an article in the Sun TV Magazine years ago talking about Winning Lines - it said that it was pre-recorded with the lottery draws being slotted in live.

On a mid week draw a couple of weeks ago, when the contestant was answering the questions on the wonderwall, her necklace was caught under her shirt. When she came to do the lottery draw 5 seconds later, it was free of the satin number. Def. pre-record going on there

I agree, it looked to me if they had two lots of 49 seats. I think it is just the way it is shot. If you watch the Price is Right, it looks as if the studio is massive - it's not, just shot with people exiting and coming into shot from the same side.
