And let's not forget the original Dutch version of Deal Or No Deal had to shoulder a lottery draw or two in it..
..as does the current Swedish version.
Not quite. Miljoenenjacht is sponsored by the Postcode Lottery. Everybody buys tickets, the amount the evening's winner wins for themselves is duplicated and split amongst everyone who has a ticket within the same postcode as the winner as a dividend. But there's no "actual" lottery draw as such. Many Dutch games are sponsored by one of the lotteries.
They've probably finally realised it has nothing to do with The National Lottery after all...except funding maybe.
If that's the case, then why has there been:-
The National Lottery Winning Lines - a great show - no real link with the lottery though!
The National Lottery 1 vs 100 - another great show but again, no connection with the lottery!
The National Lottery In It To Win It - a completely naff show with an unrelated draw stuck in the middle of it.
I'm sure there are other examples!
Just think, if ITV were doing this, we could have had by now:-
The National Lottery Bruce Forsyth's Play Your Cards Right
The National Lottery Catchphrase
The National Lottery Who Wants To Be a Millionaire
The National Lottery Price is Right.
I rest my case...
You've brought up a good point. In real sense, the only game that has relevance to the Lottery is Fatty Holmes' Jetset.
With The People's Quiz, I reckon its a schedule problem that they've decided to ditch the lottery name afterall.

The other show I can think of is Come and Have a Go - where the balls decided how much the winning player could win depending on how many questions they got right!
nok32uk mentions The People's Quiz may be funded by lottery - is this the case for the other shows with 'The National Lottery' in the title?

The links may be tenuous for the first and last, but at least they exist - 'Winning Lines' had a 49 theme (49 contestants, 49 answers on the wonderwall, 49 lottery balls) - and selected a six digit number and six contestants from the 49.
'In It to Win It' - like the lottery, you have to be 'in it to win it'.
The links are dodgy, but these quizzes - unlike 1 vs 100 - were designed with the Lottery in mind, and to have connections to it.
Well Eammon's just popped in the Lottery HQ to talk about Jet Set returning on 20th June. Now I don't watch Sunrise but has he put on more weight or what?! He looks a mess to be honest.
