Partly that. Mostly, though, it's because there's no longer a results show tied in with the Lottery draws (because that knocked a million or so off Doctor Who's ratings when it was there without contributing much, as it required Who to start before 7), so the later, short, show is now Just The Draws.
And with no Lottery connection of any sort, no more NL:PQ
Is it not doing very well in the ratings??? It is a respectable show and should be doing a decent job I would have thought?
It's been constantly in the "worst 5" in the audience review thingies (not just BBC1, nor just the BBC, nor just Saturday - everything all week). And I don't think the raw numbers are much to shout about either.

The BBC seem to have given up on this now.

Michael Ball was clearly unable to contain his embarrassment with Scooch tonight. And who could blame him?

Hey! You shouldn't post that sort of comment here!!! Remember - The People's Quiz now has nothing to do with The National Lottery whatsoever!!!

He's a fine one to talk though, didn't he do a song for Eurovision?

Yes, in 1992. But I think far fewer people would have been embarrassed by his choice as UK representative.

If that's the case, then why has there been:-
The National Lottery Winning Lines - a great show - no real link with the lottery though!
The National Lottery 1 vs 100 - another great show but again, no connection with the lottery!
The National Lottery In It To Win It - a completely naff show with an unrelated draw stuck in the middle of it.
I'm sure there are other examples!
Just think, if ITV were doing this, we could have had by now:-
The National Lottery Bruce Forsyth's Play Your Cards Right
The National Lottery Catchphrase
The National Lottery Who Wants To Be a Millionaire
The National Lottery Price is Right.
I rest my case...
