I don't see the point of tying the lottery to a gameshow when the majority of viewers there at the end have only tuned it to see the draw. I know of very few people who specifically watch the whole lottery gameshow.
I think it's something to do with the fact that the show has got to be of a certain length for it to get a viewing rating or something.
The Winning Lines lottery game show was sold to an American network (I forget which one), and also spawned a board game and quiz book, so it must be fairly successful in its own right, I would've thought.
I just checked my numbers, having won a second Lucky Dip ticket in a row (played £1 on Friday - no numbers, won a lucky dip for Saturday, no numbers - got a ticket for tonight

I really needed some money to pay into the bank! Ah well...
