Nick Knowles is presenting this new Lottery show as a replacement for Secret Fortune. It's produced by Thames Scotland and recorded at BBC Scotland at Pacific Quay.

In principle, 3 teams of 2, answer as many questions as they can correctly to bank as much money as they can before its locked into the safe. During this time a 35 minute countdown is counting down until there is only 30 seconds left (which disappears from the floor) and the contestants have only 1 second after they think 30 seconds have passed to press their buzzers to 'Break the Safe' and win the money.

I went to the final 2 recordings last night and all in all is was actually OK, but the order the shows are going out at no-one knows yet as they did two endings per recording.

More information about it is here.....

I swear to god if I see Nick Knowles on another crap BBC gameshow I shall be gouging my eyes out with something rusty and sharp. He is an awful presenter and I really don't see what the BBC see in him.

National Lottery gameshows used to be really great, live and dynamic. I don't think I could tell you the last National Lottery show I've watched and enjoyed. I'd probably say the likes of Winning Lines and Jetset.

I'm sure this new show will grow tired very quickly ike all the others recently, but guess will have to wait and see.

Nick Knowles is a grower, as in you don't necessarily like him at first but the more you watch the more you get use to him.

Who Dares Wins and Perfection are two good recent gameshows, both presented by Nick Knowles. Which other presenter has two good recent gameshows to their name? Probably Davina McCall if you counted 5 Minutes to a Fortune as good.

Secret Fortune is a stinker. Don't mind Who Dares Wins and Dale's In It To Win It. But the latter is getting tired.

I think Winning Lines is worthy of returning - would like to see Simon Mayo back presenting

Secret Fortune 'WAS' a stinker as its not coming back. Actually Nick Knowles was quite funny during the breaks, he was cracking the jokes like they were going out of fashion.

Well 'is' was correct actually, as the format can't unexist.

I miss Jetset, but I think the days of the live lottery quiz are a thing of the past.

I quite liked Secret Fortune but Who Dares Wins is utter garbage. Really if you want to make a lot a money from being a TV contestant then applying for Who Dares Wins is certainly the best option. You can make so much money from barely any knowledge or effort. Crap title as well that could apply to pretty much any quiz show.

I've tried on countless occasions to sit through an episode of an episode of In It To Win It (again, another naff title) but the extended banal banter between Dale and the contestant is too much of a turn off for me so I can't comment on the format!

Sorry I can't agree, because you still need to know the subject better than your rivals. Who Dares Wins is a really enjoyable watch, good play along value and really quite gripping.

Secret Fortune in caparison is a weaker format, over complicated and derivative of other formats.

Completely agree - it's completely infuriating seeing constestants go through the whole thought process when the answers are so obvious and can't believe this awful format has outlived them all.

Sadly Lottery quiz shows now seem to be mass recorded on the cheap to fulfil some Scottish quota rather than commissioned on merit. Personally I'd quite like to see a return to the live format - a 30 minute live show with a guest performance or two airing at points of the year when there isn't anything else live on BBC1 on a Saturday night would be a good move IMO. At the very least it would be nice to see it integrated into an entertainment format - tying a quiz show in with the Lottery branding seems to really boost it's chances of success so why not do the same with their latest attempt to revive the success of House Party.

Can't see Nick Knowles' House Party catching on...
