Will we see a return to the original theme tune and Mystic Meg returning this Saturday night??
Almost certainly not, but speaking of the original theme tune (and apologies for doing it outwith the requests forum), but does anyone have a copy of it? I'm pretty sure I once downloaded it from here, but have no idea where the file is.
As nice as it is to have an audience back, what was the point of having the audience back?
Considering they stayed silent during the whole draw they added nothing to it.
And Chris Evans is such an awful host. He was bumbling through it like he didn't have a clue what was coming up and when he tried to get in the way of every camera shot during the draw, that just sums up how irritating he really is.
It seems they've added the audience and the smoke cannons in the studio but it adds nothing.
I hope they keep the new set as it needed an update - surely possible in a smaller studio without the studio! And as it was known as the "New Lotto", I would have liked new draw machine names - to keep the whole game new, but that's a geeky thing I suppose!
Also, in the future, they could surely scroll all the Lotto Raffle results along the screen when it's the standard number of winners (50). Maybe 2 or 3 rows - one above the other!
I turned over to see the Lottery result during the ad breaks of the X Factor and at the end of the show, all they announced was the Thunderball results - no mention of the Lottery result like they usually do. This was disappointing - did the draw actually happen?
Indeed, I really don't get why Camelot have decided to move their studio to Pinewood from their own HQ. Why go to all the expense for nothing
Wait, you actually thought "Lottery HQ" was at Camelot's Headquarters? It's been at Pinewood since January, and was at Arqiva Chalfont Grove before that. Camelot are based in Watford.
It made me realise how commercial the whole programme is and it really doesn't fit on the BBC at all. It will be the kind of thing we look back on in a few years time and find it hard to believe it was ever allowed to happen. See also promoting the Radio Times in junctions, running BBC Select as a subscription service, CBBC on Nickelodeon and the Robinsons sponsorship of Sports Personality of the Year.
Also, why do they not give out the details of GamCare? Pretty much every other programme which offers gambling opportunities does.
