The National Lottery.
Is anyone sick of the cheesy gameshows the BBC make out of the Lottery? Mad
Always trying to combine the two (Lottery and a Gameshow) in to a High Rated Saturday evening show at the cushy slot of 7.30pm.
The BBC have done:
The National Lottery Winning Lines with Phillip Schofield
The National Lottery Jet Set with Eammon Holmes
The National Lottery Wright around the World with Ian Wright
The National Lottery Red Alert with Lulu Shocked

The best one I think is Winning Lines 'cos everyone with a Phone in Britain has a chance of getting onto the show and could win a round the world Holiday. Twisted Evil

Next the BBC will be doing: The National Lottery Talk Your Heart Out with Michael Parkinson. Exclamation

At least their is Casualty to look forward to after - watching hapless patients have limbs amputated is always great TV programming Razz

Never liked the gameshow.... just do the draw and get on with it.

the BBC should ditch Lottery Game Shows all together. Just have a 5 minute show with the draws after the news.

God knows why they keep going for cheap looking gameshows all the time.

I like the quizzes - Winning Lines and Jet Set are good!

I thought the general entertainment ones were better, with people singing and interviews etc. AND the one and only MYSTIC MEG!!! She made it all worthwhile! Shocked

The National Lottery game shows are basically all have the same prize - a holiday, except for the awful In It to Win It (which would be alot better if it picked up the pace).

I prefered the original style programmes with music, info on the charities and a celeb to start the draw.

And to quote the late Bob Monkhouse - "I know I'm a Jerk... but please make it work"

The 'variety' shows are soooooo cheezy! Awful!

They always had really mainstream guests, who I invariably couldn't stand, miming some god awful crap which was in the shops on Monday.

At least with the holiday prize shows you can join in the quiz and it's good to see someone win a round the world holiday.

Yeah didn't it used to be simple an entertainment programme. Where the hosts used to change frequently, usually come on and tell a few jokes, have a performance, interview the performer, have mystic meg then do the lottery draw.

Remember when it first started though. Didn't Noel edmonds do the first show where they played games with the audience to see who would be the first person to the start the first uk national lottery?
Then for so many weeks after they had anthea turner and someone else going around the country to do the draw in a different place each week.

And then things went bizarre. Remember the Anthea Turner and Patrick Kielty show, oh what was it called.

In both cases Jetset & Winning Lines are excellent programmes (winning lines being my favourite), and could be separated from the lottery draw without anyone noticing.

I don't understand why they do the main game before, then do the lotteries, and the end bit when Phillip see's how many people are coming in. And if you look at the set to that show, it's anything but cheap! It's massive. It takes up a lot of space, and that must be the excuse for using canned laughter as they can't fit a real audience in.

I quite liked that one! If only to hear Lulu sing the theme tune at the start Smile

If you think that ones bad what about the one where they had the computer generated woman part presenting the programme? Confused
