Did anyone else watch this?

Bit of a mistake to have the audience made up of members of the charities which were set to directly benefit from the celebrities answering the questions correctly wasn't it? (K)nick Knowles spent most of the show asking the (drunk?) audience not to shout out the answers. A request which they ignored.

At least it was live (probably).

Nick Knowles seems to be the BBC's answer to any quiz show at the moment, which I don't really like! He's rubbish.

Plus, any National Lottery show has recently been rubbish. What happened to Jet Set? Surely they could bring it back without Eamonn if he didn't want to do it!

1 vs 100 is great as is In It To Win It, Who Dares Wins is an OK watch.

Winning Lines was good shame it's gone, I think they kinda ruined Jet Set by moving the last series to Wednesday nights.

I agree with you on Nick Knowles, but they've used the other Lottery Quiz show presenters Dale Winton and Ben Shepherd (I think) the last two years, so I guess it was Nick's turn for this show.

Of course it wasn't a mistake they've been doing the show for the last 3 years, it's not meant to be a serious quiz, like Millionaire is. I'm sure they won't have been giving away more than they budgeted for. Rolling Eyes

I imagine it wasn't.

Since when has Nick Knowles been wearing glasses? And who told him about a small invention called the shaver? Laughing

Hopefully Who Dares Wins will be back soon!!!

Either that or there was no quality control whatsoever. I think it actually was live, certainly there was a bit of stilted banter between Knowles and Biggins at Lottery HQ.

On Points of View a while back, somebody complained about Knowles' presenting of Holiday Hit Squad as he continually fiddled with his glasses and took them on and off every thirty seconds, much to their irritation.

I wonder who has the rights to 'Winning Lines' these days since Celador is pretty much no more.It was of course the sister show to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, I'm pretty sure there used to be a scheduling agreement that the two shows never clashed. Still one of the best Lottery game shows there has ever been and indeed one of the best game shows ever on the BBC.

I think they got rid of Winning Lines when Phillip got a 'golden handcuffs' deal with ITV so they didn't bother finding a new presenter so ditched the programme. Big shame.

Didn't Simon Mayo present it before Pip?

I don't think that's right - when they used to do Millionaire in two-week splurges, one Saturday I remember it specifically lasting 35 minutes and being scheduled 7.35-8.10pm to exactly match Winning Lines. Probably the only reason it never clashed later was because Millionaire was in the winter and Winning Lines in the summer.
