Does it really matter what it's called?

Amazon of course are guilty of the same thing, branding Fleabag as an amazon show in the states.
Amazon part funds Fleabag so they’re well within their rights to brand it like that.
Pretty sure Netflix part fund The Good Place and in return get international rights for the series. (In the US you can find the previous series on demand on both Netflix as well as NBC’s own platform as a result.) And I believe a similar agreement might be in place for Star Trek: Discovery.

Surprisingly, the latest Star Trek vehicle Picard isn't going with Netflix this time, Amazon have the overseas rights.

I'm guessing Amazon outbid them when CBS were selling the OS rights.

Amazon at least makes it clear whether they commissioned it or they’ve just bought the rights for certain countries. ‘Netflix Original’ (as was) seems to be used on a lot more things, somewhat blueing what’s genuinely their own programmes by using it on those where they’ve bought the rights for a particular territory.
I notice Amazon changed Prime Originals/Exclusives to Amazon Originals/Exclusives.

An idea of how much Netflix pays for some of those originals.
Netflix paid $20 million for the #Humanity special and $24 million for #AfterLife. They have already ordered Ricky’s next special #Supernature and #AfterLife series 2 for the same amount. pic.twitter.com/Fl63Vbq1Mw

If true an idea of how gullible Netflix are, and how damaging those sort of figures could be to the UK industry. Afterlife is superb but no way is it worth $4m an episode.
