They should work on sorting out their on demand platform as should ITV and Channel 4.

I can't tell you how frustrating it is to try and watch ITV/C4/5 on catch up sometimes compared to BBC iPlayer!

I've tried ITVPlayer perhaps twice, and on both occasions I gave up, turned to an "alternative source" and had the entire episode (albeit in perhaps slightly lower quality) downloaded before the forced ads had finished playing. If they just had them in the middle, instead of at the start as well, I'd be far more likely to use it.

I don't mind the ads on a full programme but frustrating when yoy're just trying to watch a section of a show and still get 3 kinutes of ads. Much prefer to record myself.

Back on topic though and this clearly C5's version of 4Seven with the same empty promises about how it'll react to the audience and show programmes people are talking about.

The ITV Hub works fine on my NOW TV Smart Box and on the Fire TV stick, yet doesn't work on my PC where it plays the commercials, then nothing.

This is kind of related but for me My5 on my Fire Stick (also has Demand5 GUI) seems to put adverts where it feels like. You can be in the middle of something half interesting happen when an ad break starts then when it comes to the actual position for the ad break, the screen goes black for a few seconds then the program starts again. Very irritating.

I like the concept of this service though. It feels to me like a music chart but for tv and with the most watched programs played again.

The Channel 5 DOG on the My5/Demand 5 service is still the old one and hasn't been changed.

I understand they need ads but they need to implement them a whole lot better or I don't mind saying this I'll just find alternative ways of viewing the content and they can lose all their ad revenue in the process!

You should get Sky . . . Laughing

There are no adverts on ITV Hub downloads. I think there is a trailer in between parts on All 4, but I don't think there is anything on Demand5/My5.

ITV Hub on Sky is commercial-free, just plays straight through plus can get vast majority in HD as well which I don't believe is an option online (and all the ITV Encore is on demand stuff as well, the channel being exclusive to Sky and Now TV). I believe ITV Hub on Sky is only available if you're a Sky subscriber which may explain why it is advert-free in the first place.

All4 on Sky primarily flogs other All4 content between parts but is otherwise commercial-free.

Demand 5 does have adverts between parts. Or the last thing I downloaded from it did anyway.

Well judging by the tv listings My5 TV replaces C5+24 on Wednesday 10th August from 9am.

A My5 ident if anyone is interested... It seems to be constituted of bits of the other channels' logos.

So has it been just another regularly scheduled digital channel or have they backed up all the waffle around the launch and made it a bit more dynamic than that. I've only stumbled across the channel once and they were showing the very first series of Cowboy Builders, which is hardly what people were talking about on Twitter.

It was either a very low key launch, or we all just ignored it. Shocked

For a channel that's supposed to be the best bits from all the other channels, the ident fits the bill.
