Hello TV Forum. I'd like to talk to you today about Muslim World Network (Sky 857).
This channel has not launched yet but judging by the preview loop, it looks quite good. It appears that they make or at least commission their own [low budget] programmes, just like the glory days of Loaded TV. This should at least be interesting and if it's entertaining too that's just a bonus. Looks like there is something for everyone.

Something for Sport fans...

Something for Tumble Tower...

They also do their own teleshopping and actually seem to have put some thought in to it too. I can't help thinking that promoting hijabs, prayer mats and pilgrimages on Muslim World Network is a more obvious business opportunity than promoting steam mops via a badly edited American infomercial on Loaded TV. There is profit in the Prophet (praise be upon him).

It's not clear if any of the programming is going to be live, but could this be their own version of Looser Women Live?
Or this?
This is Rashid (he was on Channel 4's Make Bradford British last year) and he appears to be to Muslim World Network, what Paul Chaplin was to Loaded TV (i.e. ubiquitous).
Here are some values we can all relate to...

To watch this preview loop for yourself, tune in to 11222 H 27500 2/3 on your satellite receiving equipment or turn to 857 on the Sky Digital platform. They launch on 1st July, so they could pick up the millions of Loaded TV viewers who are stuck for something to watch now that that channel seems to have closed down. It is obvious that the two channels are competing for the same demographic so even if Loaded TV does come back, will the viewers still be there? Interesting times.
