Music Choice - Christmas

Just to let you know, in this month's Sky Mag which I received today, it tells you the Christmas music choice channel will join channel 480 (Free to listen) on November 29th

In other words, christmas music can be selected from November 29th on channel 480, right?

I remember last year when they christmas played music on channel 850 - that was good.

Yep, exactly.

It is the 850 service, just incorporated into the new style Music Choice interface.

DigiTurk viewers (this is me and me only) will be happy to know that they too will be welcoming the Christmas Music Choice channel into their systems as part of the Standard Packet, channel 430, on November 29th also.

I love the Christmas Music Choice channel. You just listen to it and it gets you in a lovely Christmas mood straight away. A nice one to have on when it's cold outside and you have the fire on. Lovely!

Shame our fire is in the other room to our Sky Digital system!

Yes, a nice channel. And I have a Sony digibox which has digital output so I can feed it direct to my minidisc player, record the tracks I want in near-perfect sound (minus Sky's overcompression ), edit and convert to special Christmas CD's to play over the Christmas break!!! No more buying crap compilations for me

One complaint though, I really hate the new Music Choice interface with a vengeance. I like to be able to press as few buttons as possible to get to what I want, I very rarely use Sky's EPG (well, never now I have TiVo's vastly superior system, although I don't use that much either -- much rather have a magazine in front of me!) and Music Choice's interface is painfully slow and gets in the way (grrrrrrr)

You could always add it manually and select Christmas from the Other Channels section of the EPG

Yeah Music Choice was much more handy on seperate channels, but I spose this freed up room on the EPG by changing the style. They had the Christmas Channel in 1999 too, that's when I first got Sky Digital so I remember listening!

It has now launched on channel 480 - Music Choice (Free package).

It will be available till 7th January 2002.

It is also available on NTL Analogue Cable (CH6 ONTV).
