is it just me or do music channels .........well............don't have music on them the last time i went on to mtv all i saw was ashlee simpson picking out nail polish with her brain dead friends!!!!!

I think MTV have more muisc related programmes in them while thoses other channels that make you pay to phone up to ask for a song is where there tend to place nowaday
I tuned into TMF last Saturday morning and discovered that they were showing childrens' programming. I thought this was some sort of major April Fool done by the channel or the techies playing about, since the whole concept of showing childrens' TV on what is supposed to be a MUSIC channel seemed rather alien to me, and quite rightly so.
I was expecting more imported crap like Cribs or perhaps some MUSIC videos, but no. I asked around and it seems that the childrens' programming is a staple part of the Saturday morning schedule.

This is Noggin. It appears everday between 7am and 9am - featuring cartoons made by Nickolodeon (and Thomas The Tank Engine), it weren't an April Fool.
MTV is awful and is a shadow of it's former self, it seems to be endless repeats of Cribs, Pimp My Ride and loads of Celebrity Trash, where is the music? Though MTV have had these shows for years, they've even had things like Beavis and Butt-Head and Celebrity Deathmatch, the latter having very little to do with music at all, but these were only ever shown late at night and were entertaining and grew talent for the station, now it's utter shíte.
Though VH1 (sorry Vhr) is going down the same route, but they still show music for most of the day.
I prefer the EMAP channels, yes there's tons more phone in's, on-screen junk, but at least there's videos.
The problem with the MTV family is that they all choose o take commercial breaks at the same time (usually xx:15, xx:30, xx:45, xx:00) - proves to be quite annoying at the best of times. Surely more viewers would be recorded if breaks were staggered?

you are so right!!!! the best thing ive heard anyone say by far!!!!!

It's not like it was though. It's not the decent music mix VH1 use to play, it consists mainly of various endlessly repeated theme days and related "charts". VH1 used to play decent music, and it had good programmes as well- sometimes live ones. Look at it now.
Both MTV & VH1 (the various MTV Channels) have taken such a dive downhill over the last 5 or 6 years, it's awful. In 1998/99, both MTV & VH1 were great, I haven't watched MTV for around 2 years and watch VH1 very rarely. I'd say the other channels aren't farign much better- I thought Magic were better before they started doing "theme weeks". And TMF is goign the same way as MTV- music being sapped from the channel rapidly- and why do they have pre-school shows every morning? Ugh! Trust me, in 3 or 4 years time there will be very little music on TMF.
