Not sure if this necessary but the Music Channel Archive is now labeled made for kids, thanks to the recent YouTube COPPA update which means comments, saving videos to playlists, miniplay, stories, community tab have all been disabled.

I can't copy the link because it has also been disabled.

Luckily, videos featuring idents are not affected by this.

Although this probably isn’t the most appropriate forum in which to ask, your post prompted me to look at the email I received from YouTube and set my videos accordingly.

I downloaded YouTube Studio, as required, and looked for an option to set my channel’s audience as “Not Made For Kids”. Unless I’m being thick (which is quite possible), I can’t see a way of doing this other than editing the status of every individual video. The email from YouTube advises you can change the audience at channel level, but has no clear instructions how to do so. I’ve tried on the YouTube Studio app, the normal YouTube app, and the desktop version of YouTube without success. Can anyone talk me - and the many others with YouTube accounts - through this process?

A quick Google led to this link, is that what you're referring to? https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaz0AbQZ26y1JDh6upaZlvg

Yeah, the way YouTube's labelling kids content is a tad bit annoying, especially as it's a case of "Don't judge a book by it's cover", a saying AI will never be able to understand. I've seen a lot of videos which have animated characters in them but they've been labelled as "for kids" even though they aren't in BBFC/MPAA terms. I won't mention examples but yeah, it's THAT bad. Especially for accounts which haven't been active for years.

The system is not a bad idea on paper, not in the slightest. In fact, I actually am glad YouTube's decided to implement it. But the way YouTube's been keeping these practises and rubbing under the nose of the COPPA regulation just seems really pathetic, especially with disabling features which are useful for parents and people alike (playlists are good for parents who want their children to watch selected videos for children which aren't the creepy robotic videos created by AIs and mini player is useful for people who want to look for another video while watching the current one)

I wonder how long it'll be before parents and governments become a bit concerned for YouTube's actions again...
