The BBC Newsflash of Jill's death says she was stabbed to death. It seems an odd thing to state as fact, unless that's what the police had said initially before it transpired it had been a shooting.

Quite possible, we all know how often details are wrong on early reports of major breaking news stories.

Thought long about posting this, was going to on Wednesday, deferred, today's scenes in and around Westminster adding to my concerns but here goes ....
Anyone else concerned at the airing of this during the current febrile press and media environment?

BBC even said,: The BBC’s director general has admitted that the corporation’s reputation as a provider of impartial news has taken a hit in recent years, while insisting the corporation is committed to giving coverage to all sides of controversial debates.

Let’s just say I share your concern.

It would be pretty embarrassing for them to have got her age wrong.
Who is that arse in the studio shouting I'm telling you she was 37?" Bet he was great to work with!

Well it’s understandable emotions were running high whilst they also had to get an incredibly difficult story on a personal level on air.
One of their colleagues had just been murdered but they still had a job to do.

Sounded to me it was more a case of "She was 37! Why has this happened to her?!?!?!". Could have been the shock of it all, maybe even anger

Indeed. My understanding from the clip is that Jennie was reaching out for help on what she should say on a personal level about Jill during the Newsflash. It must have been incredibly difficult to find out your colleague has been murdered and you're broadcasting this news to the country within minutes.
It's also something that on a professional level they've never had to do before as a BBC Newsreader so they needed to quickly decide what was appropriate. All these thoughts and emotions compacted within minutes.
It's not surprising he reacted the way he did, they just found out their colleague has been murdered. 37 is no age to die and is shocking for any workplace to deal with, let along someone as high profile as Jill.
I guess we may find out more context in the doc on Tuesday.
