legendary What's up Doc (an STV original - the last major OB to come from Cowcaddens). In these days of 90 channels for kids, we will never see their likes again.
A no. it was an TVS Original but there went bust and lost there franchise so STV took over there Kids department, Along with art attack...
and No the last major kids programme was Fun house or that lame replacement Tiswter
take it the programme was recorded in the afternoon judging by the time on the clock in Lenny henry's dressing room (2:20).
That bit was pre-recorded from the rest of the show (as was the Sir Cliff call, and I think the Mike Crawford piece) The audience segment of the show was recorded two weeks ago (evening of Fri 15th Dec)
By the way. Did Swap Shop ever come from TC3 as mentioned in the show?
I always though it, along with Superstore/Going Live and L&K came from TC7. The only Saturday winter shows in recent times not to come from there was The Saturday Show (TC6) and Dick and Dom (TC3)

When Noel was a guest on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross he said Swap Shop was broadcast from that particular studio. And JR films in Studio 6 I think.
8, 3, 4 and 6 are pretty much the same size so they could have moved around. Going Live did come from Studio 7 I assume L&K did too until it news became a news studio. The first episode of MCSS might well have come from 3 but of course that doesn't mean that every one did
Incidently the last series of Noels House Party (with the set that was 'in the round') came from Studio 1
I really enjoyed the show last night - took me right back to playing with my Lego on a Saturday morning insisting that mum couldn't go shopping until Swap Shop was over!
The only minor thing that annoyed me about the programme was that on the whole they used more up-to-date background music whilst telling the history of a particular era.... surely it wouldn't have beyond someone's capability and imagination to find some appropriate music from 1979, or 1987 or whenever to go with the clips?!
And what do Trevor and Simon do now? I still found them funny last night (probably for nostalgic reasons though).... We don't do duvets
