MTVN HD

Just noticed this has started on Sky HD - what ace pres it has! Really neat, and remarkably uncluttered for an MTV channel. What's more, it actually plays music as well! None of the anagram of carp that MTV One shows, just music and concerts.

Some of the videos seems to just be upscaled, but it's nice to see them in widescreen in good quality with minimal on-screen clutter.

It's a very good channel, reminds me of the MTV Europe of old, only with much better picture quality!

I see the 'N' stands for Nickelodeon which has a weekend programme block on the channel.

Or MTV Networks HD.

I don't understand why they added the N.

Why can't it just be MTV HD like the DOG says?

As mentioned above Nickelodeon shows are shown at the weekend, Spongebob etc. in HD.

Not sure why the show that is on now (Chart Blast) is showing videos like the above screen. Perhaps all SD videos are shown like that.

Possibly, but according to this press release on Red Orbit: it stands for "MTV Networks High Definition".

The Nickelodeon logo does appear in a rather perplexing double-lined logo on the idents (and the website), but there's definately a big ol' N there independently of it.
