MTV to rebrand as MTV One

I wonder if MTV R will be TMF rebranded? I certainly can't see the TMF name live on for much longer, seeing as it is now heavily promoted as being part of the MTV family.

The MTV repackage comes into effect on Sunday. Here are a couple of caps from MTV One & MTV Dances graphic test runs...

That looks really hideous, all those nasty shapes. I doubt it will look much better on my actual telly.

I saw a similar thing presentation wise on MTV Hits last night at midnight with a DOG saying Its All News in the top right hand corner. It didn't last long as today it was back to normal

Still, it could be worse. Remember the huge straplines used for songs and artists in the late 90s that nearly covered the entire screen. Even an Oasis took the mickey out of it in one of their singles.

Well that can't be real for a start. They don't even play music videos on the MTV channel no more

I think they could've had a bit of a variety with the logos but at least it looks smart...

Unfortunately it'll take something a lot more radical than a few new graphics to make the channel decent again.

Is it me or do the caps above look like The Box in its early days? Let's hope it's just a dodgy clip.

Do we know by the way... is it just MTV channels, or the VH1 channels and TMF too?

Just the MTV branded channels.

VH1, VH1 Classic and TMF, unfortunatly, will stay the same.

VH1 looks crap nowadays. And only a few years ago were they playing great music everyday with a bold logo.

Sky's EPG has been updated pretty early.
