Surprised no one mentioned this...

Quote:
MTV has kicked off a re-brand in which viewers’ Instagram and Vine videos will feature on air.

The broadcaster’s international division, which spans 160 countries, is switching its tagline ‘I want my MTV’, which it has had for more than 30 years, to ‘I am my MTV’.

It will now shine a spotlight on viewers’ videos via #MTVbump: interstitials provided by viewers that it aims to have on-air just two hours after they are posted online. A dedicated site, MTVbump.com, will aggregate the full range of international videos to have made it to TV.

I like this new MTV rebrand, not only does it look like MTV from the 90's but I like how they mixed it with the modern stuff nowadays on MTV.

NOTE: I watched the rebrand again, and realised its alright. Let alone a little bit bad.

It looks like if the worst trends of the 80s and 90s had babies. Shocked

I know 90's MTV was random, but it made sense. This is an horrific mess.

I don't mind them, but It'll never change the sh*t they broadcast. It just acts as a painful reminder of how low MTV have gone.

I bet the BID were passing around a joint when they thought up this idea. Rolling Eyes

Doesn't this cement MTV as a downmarket channel?

It's been downhill ever since they got rid of Mister Furry.

We are still relevant. Really.

It reminds a little of TV's first response when the internet entered the public consciousness in the late 1990s with shows like "dotcomedy" on Channel 4 . Internet content really doesn't work on television and television's response to the internet & mobile is to what is does best: television.

NB. I can't remember the last time I heard "I want my MTV" anywhere.
