if you go on to the mtv website and in the watch the latest shows link, theres an interesting explination to the axing of TRL UK on the beggining of the christina aguilera interview!

Even though it's a Russell Brand comment, it's most probably got a lot of truth saying that it could never match the US version.

Me personally, I actually enjoyed trl when it first began and came from camden. They had the studio space to do interviews and comps, but I much preferred the outside space with the crowd and the stage, something that they couldn't do in leicester sq.

Is it just me thats confused as to why MTV Select isn't actually coming from the downstairs studio that they supposedly had and were working on. Surely it would add something extra to what is already becoming a great show by having an audience behind.

Michael Gibson is a great find. Don't think much of him reading the autocue, but let loose, his adlbbing is great.

I would like to see the programme go on to be extended, even if it were to 7pm, or 4-6.

MTV Select did have a window with a studio at one time, was a few years back now though.

Yes - the old MTV Select studio was at Leicester Square too. Just across the road from the current MTV studio, in fact, in what used to be the Sound Republic club.

at on point i thought it came from a mobile building with a big window, from what seemed to be the middle section of mtv camden, where the old tvam studios were. I havnt had chance to catch select yet, so i take it thats comming from a bog standard camden studio then?

Well Christina said its great to be here my first time on trl, and Brand said words to the effect of : this isnt trl anymore , the people at mtv realised it would never liv up to its american equivilant and got rid of the programme.
