Was down in london the other week and so took a walk past. I Know TRL was axed (I dotn know why because the show was quite good!) and Russel Brand now brodcasts from it but it looked like it was going through some renovation work downstairs at street level. On previous occasions it was just used to house an mtv cut out advertising TRL, anyone shed some light? My first thought was that Nickelodeon could be moving in, as there was a rumour when MTV first secured the site they would move in then?

They moved that crapy Crunch program to 4pm and I think it is done on a Saturday and Sunday, so it is not live.

I happen to know that technical people at MTV were (discussing) installing neutral density filters on the windows to allow them to shoot there in bright daylight. That was about a year ago. Perhaps it is finally happening.

What does Russel Brand do there, out of interest?

a show called 1 the square or something, basicly a mix of celebrity guests, interviews and awfull presenting. The studios location was better showcased on trl, they must have got more money out of it then considering there was a show every night. Now its used once a week , and with the rent down there!!!

The real 'MTV Select' returns next week ("real" as apposed to this which I posted about last week). So It probably has something to do with that.

MTV Select
With a stunning new host...
It’s time we got Select back up and running! You choose what’s on, you choose what isn’t.

Look out for our MTV Select Wildcard - a video special hit - and loads of top stars and artists such as Paris Hilton, the Flaming Lips, Gnarls Barkley, Kaiser Chiefs and many more all introducing their favourite singles.

To add to the fun, we’ve a cracking new man to lead the show. Michael Gibson is a total one off – it may be his first presenting job but he’s far from green to the TV world.

While working as a runner for a production company, Michael pitched one of his documentary ideas to Channel 4 which they commissioned on the spot! The documentary’s based on Michael and how he feels about the fact that he is 25 and has Parkinson’s Disease.

As well as all the latest musical offerings from the world’s greatest chart superstars, MTV Select features up to the minute entertainment news and showbiz gossip, plus interviews with a never ending list of music personalities.

Brought to you direct from MTV HQ, Select is here to prove that summer is the best when you’ve got a great run down of the best hits, guaranteed to add the sizzle to the Summer!

Make sure you tune into this great new show with our stampingly good host.

MTV Select premieres on MTV UK every weekday at 5pm from 24 July, so make sure you check it out.

MTV Select is back - wahoo!! Very Happy

I actually really enjoyed this show and as said above it is good someone new is doing it (well especially if the Hound was a potential - gruesome!) - maybe MTV will be the home of upcoming talent again.
