The DOGs on the MTV channels have been shrunk and moved out of the safe area and much closer to the edge of the screen.

They have also removed the programme name DOGs for most programmes (with the exception of some of the music programmes, mostly the countdown/music video programmes, where they have also changed the graphics in line with the new DOGs).

The DOG on the main MTV channel is now tiny, and it's good to see another broadcaster making a welcome step in the right direction, as I've never really liked the fact that music channels in particular have so much on-screen clutter.

It's not just DOG changes (which is now 16:9 safe rather than 14:9), it's a tweak/refresh:

Here in Brazil, the "new" MTV (which premiered last night) already has the new graphics and the smaller DOG/bug.

And a little background: here in Brazil, MTV was, until last Monday, a broadcast network, available over the air, as well as on cable and satellite platforms. But the owners (Abril, Brazil's biggest magazine publisher) aren't so well financially, so they decided to end its franchise deal with Viacom, who relaunched MTV here as a cable and satellite network (like they are elsewhere in the world).
