Mrs Brown's Boys - Live

Just a reminder for anyone who's missed it or forgot. his international broadcasting event is going out now.

I know not everyone is a fan of this show, but it's exciting for something like to go out live.

You could hear the network continuity in the studio before the start of the programme. Did the nations take the Network announcement?

NI introduced the programme with a local announcement.

Live subtitles are a bit of a mess.. I think they must be using voice recognition rather than a stenographer and it's struggling a bit with the accents!

Appears to be over-running already.

I thought that's how they always do live subtitles these days, isn't it? Not voice recognition of the actual speakers - someone in a booth repeats everything that's said.

No idea how they get all the colour and punctuation done though...

The actors years of experience on stage showed. Presentation wise, I really couldn't tell the difference between this and the normal pre-recorded episodes, bar the introduction.

timing is interesting cause to be live on bbc 1 and rte 1 is not easy especially as the news on rte 1 is more or less fixed to 9 o'clock rather than the bbcs which can move thus a slot they could both use

I was honestly expecting it to go a bit more "wrong" than it did. It was just like a normal episode.

The woman to the right of the director, was that Barbara Hicks? A lady who I've seen listed on so many credits of my favourite shows throughout the years.

I guess as they always keep the bloopers in going live didn't add much to it.

When is the rest of this comedy season they've been talking about for ages playing out then. Mrs Brown Boys Live was promoted as part of it so Ii'm expecting the re-recorded classics should be following soon.
