I think they need to fire the sound guy (Echo Beach). I've not heard a scene yet in Ep2 where someone isn't dubbed. I can understand when they're on the beach, but not when they're inside with the windows closed
Does anyone else get the feeling that Kudos/ITV made Echo Beach, realised it was crap but too expensive to bin so quickly made Moving Wallpaper in an attempt to save face?

Echo Beach would not work without Moving Wallpaper, as many of the tiny little things on Echo Beach, whether it be an object in the background, or the addition of a character, relates to what's happened in MW. Without MW, either it wouldn't make sense or wouldn't be funny. For example, in tonight's Echo Beach, the panda that was in MW was in the background of a shot.

Echo Beach wouldn't work (for me) without Moving Wallpaper because Echo Beach is just another teen soap opera along the lines of The OC/Hollyoaks which aren't aimed at me.
Its a good tatic by ITV though. Would a teen soap get 5 million viewers without the novelty of the Moving Wallpaper cross over? I think not.
I'll probably continue watching Moving Wallpaper but I think I'll give up on Echo Beach.
So Echo Beach featured a panda that was also seen on Moving Wallpaper? So what? Thats not funny.
Well the show's not aimed at you then. Go back to BBC One or some other channel where you aren't impulsed to be cynical and ridicule everything and anything it broadcasts.
And in all honesty, who
cares
if Echo Beach isn't aimed at you? Oh boo, it's a 'teen soap' - are you far too mature and past that sort of nonsense? Then good for you!
I think people are ramming their views on Moving Wallpaper / Echo Beach down everyone's throats - if one , or other, or both is not to your taste, then stop watching, it's really that simple. ITV1 have a plethora of other dramas - perhaps Trial and Retribution is more to your taste, or if you really can't watch anything on ITV purely because it's on ITV, I suggest you look elsewhere and stop moaning!
People take Echo Beach too seriously in particular. It's supposed to be credible, but is also taking the piss out of itself. Kudos probably were banking on intelligent viewers knowing that having watched the behind-the-scenes 'dramedy' the viewer would watch Echo Beach with a half-interested-in-stories and half-spotting-the-crossover attitude, which is quite a comfortable one for me, as a viewer.
This is an innovative, clever, witty idea. Moving Wallpaper is very funny indeed (IMO) and people who ridicule it to death are simply doing it because it's on ITV1 to be frank. Its pairing with Echo Beach is inspired and ambitious and I believe they have pulled it off well.
My sister and I watched Echo Beach tonight and we both want to know what the Penwarden's secret is - despite feeling like we're being 'let in on' a few secrets in Moving Wallpaper. The show is only beginning, so obviously the first few episodes is laying down groundwork. I think things will only improve, and seeing characters in MW arguing with 'cast' members whose beards look stupid, then for them to be gone in the next EB episode is hilarious IMO.
I just get so angry when people slag things off incessantly - okay, you've said once you don't like it, so can you stop spreading negativity around now, about how you're just too mature to 'get it'?
Forgot to watch last night but caught tonight's shows.
I really liked Moving Wallpaper, got into it very quickly and made me laugh loudly several times.
Echo Beach should be on ITV2 though - it's teatime teen crap, really out-of-place. And the sound problems reminded me of the first few episodes of Eldorado...
Overall I watched ITV1 through from 7.30 until part the way through the news (apart from Tonight) - I don't think I've watched ITV1 for this long in years! The other mainstream channels had particularly dire offerings though.

Pad I could say exactly the same thing to you about your rants about Corrie!
I do agree with you though that Moving Wallpaper and Echo Beach are really good and I think some people on this forum are hoping both will flop due to them being on ITV.
I dont think EB would be as enjoyable withouth MW before it. I dont think it would work if it was a stand alone soap in say a 5.00pm slot. Like Susie's character "Angela" in Echo Beach - that scene with her and Susan was pointless and added nothing to the episode, but it was funny because we know the reason she got the pointless part from watching Moving Wallpaper. The shaving off the facial hair thing was a bit crap though IMO.

Please, say 'Oh, boo' again. It sounds *so* hot when you do.
