I really enjoyed both shows. It is certainly something different from ITV. I liked the way their was no advert break at the end of Moving Wallpaper and start of Echo Beach. It was a nice touch to have the beach ident too! I'm sure their was 3 or 4 songs, within the first 5-7minutes of Echo Beach.
I loved the bit where a character bashed his head into Michael Grade's photograph and the producer sure loves Simon Cowell doesn't he..
I was very surprised as I thought both were really good and enjoyed both of them too.
Moving Wallpaper was rather funny and as said shows that ITV seem to have a sense of humour, although I'm interested to see how MW will span a whole series, but it looks promising.
After watching Echo Beach I got a hint of OC here and there, it didn't feel English at all, as there was Sun, Sand and no-one over the age of 45, except Mike Baldwin and that lady with the dog. It felt a little OTT here and there, but that was the premise of the programme which was stated in Moving Wallpaper. Jason Donovan was really good aswell, proves he's still got it. I think the Radio Times said it will be like Hollyoaks at the sea and I think that summed it for this episode.
But I'm looking foward to the rest of the series, something a bit different from ITV which is looking positive.
I'm all for praising something different, but would this sort of experimental stuff not be far more suited to the likes of Channel 4 or BBC3? I'm not sure it's mainstream enough, and I can see the traditional ITV audience being highly confused by the crossover between the two shows unless they've seen all the pre-publicity.
Seems like a bit of a media in-joke to me. Which is great fun for us, but not if you're Mr Average from Maryhill.
Echo Beach seemed a bit too fake, but Moving Wallpaper looks good, and its great to see how things in Moving Wallpaper affect things in Echo Beach, hopefully a better episode tonight...

That's what I think. Echo Beach was intentionally dodgy, I heard one of the Moving Wallpaper characters has to beg the cast member who plays Dan's son to shave off his facial hair (you know, that stupid beard!)
I have a feeling they will also talk about the wobbly accents too!
Absolutely loved both of them. There were a couple of times I laughed out loud (the girl asking for a drink at the bar, and being served by Narindar), and I don't know why but it felt kinda special when it went from Moving Wallpaper to Echo Beach.
Really REALLY good idea, I've already series-linked it.
