Moving Wallpaper/Echo Beach

I'm loving it so far, it's like their taking the piss out of themselves [ITV]

There's a scene where one of the characters headbutt's Michael Grade's portrait photo. (will post a clip of that soon)

I noticed ITV1's ident finally suits the programme, Beach was used for Echo Beach

A bit of overload on the soundtrack - must a song a minute!

Getting a distinct 'OC' feeling from this. Enjoying it, though, it's interesting to see something different on ITV1. It feels more like something you'd see on BBC Three or ITV2. Didn't catch much of Moving Wallpaper, but I'm slightly confused - is Echo Beach supposed to be a spoof, or a genuine soap? Or neither? It's an interesting premise and excellent to see ITV having the courage to try something different. In fact this is the first time I've watched ITV for...a long, long time!

Only caught the last minute of MW, but thought the "snow job" line was ludicrous. Unless the producer is supposed to be utterly dense.

EB is the type of soap I'd poke my eyes out to avoid but I'll watch both again in full a few times before I draw a conclusion.

With a nod to Larry Sanders and the brilliant Studio 60 it's an excellent premise for a show, though.

I think maybe they deliberately made the soap bad, so when we go back to Moving Wallpaper they make changes to Echo Beach

*little impressed noise*

It's making more sense now...

Will be interesting to see how this does in the ratings, doesn't seem like the kind of thing your usual ITV viewer would watch.

Really enjoyed them both although Moving Wallpaper was better.
