One thing good about PBS America is that it never "cuts" its original programmes (most of them 30-mins, 60-mins exactly long, because of the lack of ads on PBS in the US) as opposed to the UKTV channels, even if it means that you do not end up with a linear schedule with programmes at the top of the hour and on the half hour
The reason behide the promos had been explanded else where. It to drill home important shows to viewers etc foces promotion....
It's only result, for me at least, is to put me off completely watching the channel. Nothing worse than seeing the same ads and promos on every ad break. A lot of the spin-off channels are guilty of this. Watching something on 5 STAR and seeing that promo for the hair wars programme when entering a break and when coming out of it was very tiresome. I only wish in my new place I had something to record and fast forward the ads.

PBS 30 minute shows are usually around 26'46", whilst 60 minute shows are usually around 56'46", due to promotions for fundrasing for PBS and the local stations.
I wonder if they'll ever update Horror's with it. If they made it blood red it would be perfect. Hell, just call it CBS Horror, it is that in every other way but name!
