John and Fern were good, but I think Phil & Fern have topped it.

It would be nice if they did do something, though as has been said, they may prefer to do something for the 21st.

I only realised it was 20 years after watching Richard & Judy yesterday with an old This Morning clip from the first show back in as they said October 1988.

I do hope that after many changes of management on both This Morning and through ITV that they do the decent thing and bring people such as John Leslie back to celebrate.

They've had many presenters over the years, especially over Fridays when various presenters have had 4 day working weeks, and have also needed school holiday cover.

20 years is a good milestone, I wonder if any programme starting out today will last for any considerable future.
Seems as though the programme usually marks the anniversary of any other show it would be a shame for them not to mark their own.

Can anyone remember if they did anything for their 10th birthday?

Celebratory programme including live link up with Fred at the Albot Dock.

I think they will recognise it - they seem to celebrate every anniversary going, such as Philip's 25 years in TV and Phil and Fern's five years on air together last October.

Yeah, they seem to be good at patting themselves on the back at every tedious opportunity so I imagine they'll do something. Although, I don't recall them doing anything to celebrate Fern's gastric band fitting. At least they'll be forking out less on cake this year.

You know she actually ate a meringue live on air last week, oddly enough baked by the chef known as her husband. Confused

From what I have seen it looks as though This Morning will be running through the Summer as it did last year.

With Ruth and Eamonn again? If so I won't be tuning in. I have come round to Ruth, but Eamonn doesn't suit the show one bit with his little jibes at inappropriate moments and can barely fake any sincerity to some of the real life guests they get on who have had tragedies etc.

Have to agree, although not as bad as some previous parings they seem to lack any kind of gravitas despite Eammons news background.Talking of which,he should take a leaf out of Fern's book... gastric band needed anyone?

Agreed Ruth is good, but you can tell Eammon doesn't want to be there.

But saying that I hope they don't ask John Barrowman back, jeez, come to think of it I don't know who's worse... Laughing

Some may disagree with me, but I thought that Denise and Richard did a good job of presenting it a few summers ago. What did itv replace it with before it started running through the summer?

I would actually like to see Ben Shephard maybe. I was at a new show he was recording at the weekend, and in between breaks he was hilarious.

When I was a kid it was usually a Movie, from 10.30am until 12.20pm. When Five put Terry and Gaby on in 2003 ITV kept This Morning running all summer, but it was merely edited highlights and it was never more than an hour long.

So in recent years I've only ever known 60 Minute Makeover or 'The Springer Show' to take the slot while This Morning has been off.

Laughing A gastric belt, rather band, for him Wink

Ruth is OK I think. Whilst she doesn't have the charisma of Fern, she has the right friendly/cosy style. I'd agree Eamonn doesn't suit the programme, his snide quips just fall flat at best and he seems uncomfortable being on This Morning.

Ben S would be a good replacement, he has the right humour and easy-going style need for the show. Possibly Vernon Kay as well?
