Favourites to host it include Rylan, Ore, Alex and Stacey.
It will be interesting to see how it affects This Morning ratings, as This Morning with Phillip, Holly, Eamonn and Ruth is so established.

I have to ask the question why? Surely the fact they have The One Show means there is no need for a morning version of The One Show

What is odd is that This Morning isn’t even *that* successful, it’s hardly running away with a massive lead. In the ratings it is usually fairly equal between it and BBC One’s schedule, with some shows being better and some being worse.

The is a certain itv-ness about This Morning and Lorraine etc, I’m not sure how something fluffy like that would really work on BBC1, but that said, what do you put on in the mornings? BBC 1 daytime has been dire for years.

They've had lots of live programmes in that slot over the years, I suppose it's just a case of trying a new one. Tacking it onto The One Show is easier and cheaper than doing another format like consumer or crime or wildlife

The BBC have tried something similar before:

Going back further than Ann and Nick there was People Today and Open Air and of course Pebble Mill

Not sure this is the best idea they've had - as said previously This Morning is very established (as well as Lorraine) and they both offer different types of programming suited to different people.

I'm sure many would watch This Morning whilst others watch episode 48,546,983 of homes under the hammer. It all depends..

Think you may have a point here. A lot of the live shows they’ve had in this slot have essentially been the same show in the same studio with a different theme, this sounds like more of that with a broader theme.

Maybe C4 can send them Steph back.

There was also "The Morning Show" on BBC1 around 2003 which, I think, launched with more a focus on news.

I suspect you know who will have something to say about the BBC launching a new magazine format straight after BBC Breakfast.

I love the BBC but surely this just plays into their hands? They are now trying to offer similar products that are available on 1-2 other commercial channels (Channel 4 just launched a magazine show).

Why can't the BBC offer an alternative instead of trying to be what it's not, commercial...
