How long has the More4 DOG been in the 16:9 safe area? Just switched over to Monarchy and noticed.

Did this really need its own thread?

Ah yes, I didn't know about that - only launched yesterday. Strange why they've waited until now to do it!

Did this really need its own thread?

Seeing as the last More4 thread has been archived, and how the DOG is integrated and animates along with the other graphics used by More4 such as the ECP and IPP, I thought it better to start a new thread that could live or die on its own merits rather than shoehorning it into another mega thread.

The More4 DOG has animated in that way since the current logo was launched last year.

The animation you see actually sits beneath the normal DOG. When More4 + 2 existed last year (without a DOG), you could see the coloured blocks in animation, with no lettering.

Surely the logical thing to do would be to create another generic More 4 thread than to make one dedicated to its DOG.

I thought we were trying to avoid the generic threads?

Although given that it appears the ** "clique" secret manifesto is essentially to subvert the forum into an even bigger car crash for their own amusement this makes perfect sense.

I don't think generic threads are bad, because there are obviously some things that happen which are worthy of note, yet don't really warrant their own thread, it could be argued this is one such happening. But I would agree, significant things are worthy of a new thread.

Pete, stop spouting rubbish.

The forum won't go to rack and ruin if this thread is renamed "More 4". Why does a DOG on a specific digital channel deserve its own thread, especially since discussion has dried up in less than a page? If the DOG had turned colour and had started animating every 5 seconds, maybe it would warrant its own thread.

And you can hardly talk about secret cliques. Not that ** is a secret clique, as anyone can join and chat.

I think that anything that avoids generic threads is a good thing at the moment. Despite this being somewhat small I think it's significant enough to warrant its own thread given it appears to be a permanent change to a biggish part of the package.

"More4 ident at 1500 has slight flicker and goes black before programme" however would be more a generic thing.

But yes, as I said, I think we had previously reached the point where nothing appeared to be happening because everything was hidden in generic threads therefore a few mildly boring threads are a price worth paying for actually finding things out.

Actually might request the TVC plans are split out from the BH&TVC thread as that is *massive*.

Thanks for your comment Pete.

Sorry to hear you believe ** is a clique - I can assure you anybody is welcome over at ** (so long as you know what the channel previously known as BBC Choice is now known as - we are strict about that).

For discussion of TV Forum, I recommend Metropol [24/7].

I hope this response has allayed any concerns you may have.
