Not a fan of this ident, as the inset zooms out at a different pace to the wall, which just looks jarring...
Oh, I don't like that either. I had forgotten.
I thought that was just me. Overall a good enough rebrand. The logo is very hard to see in the idents and the e looks out of place. Still two more idents to be aired.
Totally agree with peoples opinions on it being very fresh compared to the last branding on the channel.
I do love the animations on the logo that have been seen, though I'm not so sure on the idents, I'd have probably preferred to see further animations of the logo used.
Though they have done the reputation of live action idents justice by including an element of the logo/brand in them.
Hhmm. not a fan. Everyone's going on about how "clean" these idents are. Other than being one of the usual clichés used for new idents, could someone please try to justify this statement? especially compared to what they've replaced (dismissed in usual TVF fashion as being 'stale' and 'tired' simply because they are a few years old).
These idents look like a confusing mess of coloured flip tiles, inexplicably on a wall and on a beach, with props (boats, chairs etc) lying around. Fine if you like this and think it's 'fresh' and new, fair enough, but can someone please explain the 'clean' remark?
I actually like the idents, they're obviously more lifestyle based, I like the way they look quite washed out yet striking because of the colourful triangles.
I like the animation of the logo more than anything though, its neat. Overall a nice new look for the channel, imaginative, which Channel 4 always is!
I don't quite get the idea of these idents, much as I like the flappy bits and see how it links to the logo. Why are they attached to these objects, and in the case of this onem why only a small section of the object? I could understand if they covered the whole of the trunk, but this looks like they got bored when attaching them.
Overall not too bad, the idents are the weak part of the presnetaion, and the logo itself is not far behined (though is integrated well on the other presentaional devices.
I like that it's physical. The logo looks very nice animated in the bumpers, and the idents are quite nice. So two very nice elements, they just don't... come together in the current logo/ident execution.
I wonder if they could have gone for a Channel 4 style 'less logo is more' type thing, maybe not having the logo overlay on screen, maybe just one shot closeup of the triangles flipping maybe as a physical logo, and no overlay. I don't know what exactly to do but as you've all said there's just something off with the logo there.
