Was checking out Digiguide, and notice that the schedule seems to have changed to that initially put out with More4 News now schedule at 9pm rather than 8pm.
This seems a better idea to me, there is little in the way of news programmes elsewhere in the 9pm hour, whereas 8pm would seem too soon after Channel 4 news and clash with The World.
If this correct, I think it's a good call.

Don't know what's going on there. All other schedules suggest 8pm (inc Radio Times) and 9pm will be a flagship slot for More4 (as with most channels) - so they won't want to waste it on news!
We're a couple of weeks off the clocks changing, so that can't be the excuse!

Ignore me, either my square eyes were playing up, or my Digiguide was screwed. I notice it's showing 8pm again now for the news.
My mistake then. Soz.

Was going to say that MediaGuardian articles a bit off, but if its 8...lol.
I'm actually quite looking forward to this new channel. The MG article was really quite interesting. The "Adult Entertainment" idea was put before a focus group of "Sky Housewives" who replied with if it's free porn, then I suppose its a public service... Classic.
Oh and it was originally going to be known as G4...
Well worth a read.
Adrian.

With More4 launching next week, I thought it might be interesting to see how other channels launched.
http://www.tvradiobits.co.uk/tellyyears/launchtv.htm has the main channels, but not all of them.
Has anyone got any more info - specifically Sky One and the first night BBC Choice was available to the public, plus E4 and FilmFour.
IIRC FilmFour's launch night was simulcast on C4, while E4 had Friends, ER and Ali G.

I seem to remember when Sky Sports 2 was launched. I used to watch the trailers round my Nan's. Always remember it used the full version of the catchy Sky fanfare. (circa 1994)
Anyway...
Anyway...

E4's launch schedule (Thursday 18 January 2001):
8.15pm Ali G hosts the launch of E4
8.30 Friends: The One with Monica's Thunder
9.00 Friends: The One with Rachel's Book
9.30 ER: Homecoming
10.30 Banzai
11.00 The Best of Borat
11.30 So Graham Norton
12.15am Eurotrash
12.40 ER
1.25 Real Beach
2.25 Banzai
2.50-3.25 The Best of Borat
BBC Choice's first public schedule (1 October 1998):
5.30pm Choose Choice
6.00 Backstage
7.00 110 Per Cent
7.30 Tomorrow's World Trusted Guide to Digital
8.00 Explorer: two editions of QED
9.00 First Take: Terry Jones with landmark moments in broadcasting history
10.00-12.00 Separate programmes for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland - unfortunately Radio Times did not list what the programmes were.
Sky One's first schedule could be a bit more tricky to find since it dates back well into the 1980s under the name Sky Channel. If anyone has it then I'll add to that webpage, along with the E4 line-up.
