If this was in Mocks, i'd give it a 6/10 on the condition the font is changed to something which follows the current offerings from C4 and E4.

E4 looks nothing like C4, I see no reason why More4 couldn't look even more different. I personally think it's great that Channel Four can have 3 channels that look totally separate from each other.

That's what I was saying (if you read my previous posts); the C4 and E4 fonts are different and original in themselves - this is not.

IMO, It looks like the C.E's five year daughter has been set loose on Paint for an afternoon. Lets hope someone does a London Live and has a re-think.

Ah, right. I do tend to read posts before I reply to them but I didn't get what you meant. You're saying the C4 and E4 fonts are new or created only for those channels, whereas this More4 font looks more like something every new computer has in it's fonts folder.

You can't be too sure yet that this is the font they'll use on everything. I suppose this could be unlikely but the font may only be used on the logo. Take Sky One as an example, or even BBC One. But I don't really have a problem with the font anyway, it looks like nothing I have. I'm quite positive about it for some reason, I think it'll look good!

The text for MORE is 'bryant' i believe, used to be used by Abbey.

The logo may just be a logo, and the channel could use the channel 4 font, or some other custom made or commercially available font.

I had a feeling it would be green, so they could colour code the promos on C4.

The one I saw was nothing like that it was

MORE4 but the 4 & lettering "MORE" all made up of small bricks liek the channel 4 logo.

EDIT:

Found it at last not a good quality image but gives you a rough idea of what it could have looked like. It dates from late 2004 & was originally from www.tellyaerial.co.uk although I only found this via wayback when macjine by putting in the link to the image itself (it don't show up on the website anymore)

I seem to remember the first time we saw the 3D version of the Channel 4 logo it received a similar pasting on here, and now everyone seems to love it. I think a lot depends on how it'll be used on screen.

I'd also like to echo the comments praising Channel Four for giving each of their three main channels distinct, different identities. It's rather refreshing in this age of bland corporatism.

That logo looks like someone sticking their middle finger up at the camera.

Perhaps Channel 4 are trying to appeal to the 'hoodie' generation?

Though all the channels have different logos, it is worth noting that when FilmFour and E4 launched they both had idents incorporating the C4 logo.

FilmFour had a glass version of the block logo which broke up on screen with the middle part forming the C4 logo.

E4 had a few variations, the most famous being the coloured C4 logo shattering into hundreds of little E4 logos. There was also one with the 4 logo on a sardines tin, opening up to reveal loads of E4 logos - and a few using the square & stripes idents, which broke up to reveal the E4 logo underneath.

So I wonder if More4 will have any idents or promos which include the 4 blocks logo morphing into the More4 logo?

Either that or channel 4 are saying "f*** you" to their rivals or they are telling the audience to "go f*** themselves" Very Happy

Do we have much idea what the schedule will be from 4-8pm. The only thing I've read about that might go there is the re-runs of ER, possibly airing at both 4pm and 7pm.

We then have:
8.00 More 4 News
8.30 TBA
9.00 Drama and Documentaries
11.00 The Last Word
11.30 The Daily Show

12.00-6.00 Repeated programmes

I wonder also what they'll put in the 8.30pm slot - and whether it'll be stranded across the week or part of the peak-time schedule.

Something like Frasier (though Paramount have the rights) would work well here IMO.

So... Channel4 have heared from David Blunkett's Solicitors, eh? The publicity machine must be cranking into action.

Blunkett 'romp' to open C4's More4

Channel 4's plans to open its new digital channel More4 next month with a drama focusing on former home secretary David Blunkett's affair with magazine publisher Kimberly Quinn has prompted a letter from Blunkett's solicitors.

Channel 4 confirmed it had received a letter from solicitors acting on behalf of Blunkett, but said it was standing by the drama, A Very Social Secretary.

More4 chief Peter Dale said the programme was "a bit of a romp which is really typical of what More4 is about, a huge political story that rocks the Labour Government but is also very funny. I think in time David Blunkett will come to see the funny side of it."

More4 debuts on Freeview, Sky and digital cable at 8pm on October 10 and broadcast from 4pm to 6am each day after that. The channel has a £33m programming budget.
