Any signs of a More4+1 logo yet - Digital Spy says it's due to launch on Sky 286 (along way from More4) and NTL 167.

Again with the trailing off Martin?

Why do you do that? It's really very patronising.

DJGM is worse . . .

He always has an ellipsis in every post . . . and he spaces them out like this . . .

But the manual
line breaks in his posts annoy me
even more . . .

The ratings are in - it's the third most popular digital channel launch of recent years behind ITV3 and E4, with 2% of the audience last night between 8pm and midnight, and average of 269,000. Along with ITV2, it was the most popular digital channel of the night.

So programme by programme:
More4 News: 140,000
The Daily Show: 216,000
A Very Social Secretary: 484,000 (peaking at 574,000)
Rory Bremner: 187,000
The Last Word: 92,000
The Sorpanos: 47,000

In comparison, Hells Kitchen on ITV2 and Wife Swap: The Aftermath on E4, both attracted 342,000 at 10pm.

E4 had 295,000 for Hollyoaks at 7pm, with 149,000 watching Hollyoaks: Let Loose at 9pm.

C4 had 1.1m for Monarchy at 8pm, 2.9m for Wife Swap, 1.7m for Without a Trace and 0.8m for Whatever Happened to Gender Benders? channel4sales.com don't list the ratings for C4 News.

Not too unexpected really, but a big drop in ratings for More4 on Tuesday:

Grand Designs Abroad: 163,000
More 4 News: 72,700
The Daily Show: 86,400
Kidnap Ronnie Biggs: 109,200
The Last Word: 67,200

In comparison, E4 had 210,900 for Without a Trace at 9pm and 191,300 for Six Feet Under at 10pm.

Granted those Ratings aren't as good, but it's more than what BBC Four usually gets, which I think is the aim to More4, for it to get higher ratings than BBC Four.

The channel numbering seems to be a problem with the current (somewhat overcrowded) Sky EPG. All channels (after the terrestrials) were always allocated a slot of three numbers. However, UKTV (and now C4) have found this to be a problem. They introduce a +1 in the second space, then a new channel in the third, and so their +1 for that channel simply has to slot in at the end of the EPG section.

eg:
UKTV G2 (111), and the +1 (256)
UKTV People (566), and the +1 (591)

UKTV Drama has a similar problem if they want a +1 (which I assume is on the cards). By slotting More4 in after E4/E4+1 (to give it a space nearer the top of the EPG) they have banished their +1 to the bottom of the Entertainment Section.

I often forget that there is a G2+1 and a People+1 because they are not adjacent. Hopefully Sky will be rectifying this with their intended renumbering later this year Very Happy

An eye on the ratings again - once again down, but not too surprising!

ER 52,000
Grand Designs 33,000
Death In Gaza 61,000
Rory Bremner 30,000

More4News / Daily Show / Last Word ratings not listed on channel4sales.com

Most interesting is Grand Designs seems to have lost 130,000 viewers overnight - (or it's a mis-print!)

Also worth a mention, but E4 once again betters C4 ratings with 1.3m watching first look Lost, compared to 800,000 watching Whatever Happened to the Wildchild?

Although I have no idea about what times these programmes were on, but would it be fair to say that most poeple were watching the England game last night?

Couple of things, and 'scuse me if I'm missing something:

1. Wasn't there a new ident before the More4 News tonight?
2. Has the music for More4 News changed slightly?
3. Has the DOG become darker?

As I said, apologies if I'm missing something.

Well, I'd say No, No and No on these things, but then again I never notice these little changes!

You'll usually find that there will be a few changes straight after the launch, just look at Midland Todays headline bed Shocked
I've noticed the Dog's changing sizes. It can appear really small or at times rather large, particually straight after the DSwJS.

For Idents I've not a clue. Probably more out there. Anyone else thinking v.BBC 4?

Still not sure about the idents - far too like the previous C4 set for my liking!

Ratings up last night:
1900 Grand Designs 110,000
2000 More4 News 55,000
2030 The Daily Show 75,000
2100 Touching the Void 102,000
2345 The Sopranos 34,000

Presumably from the way the site quotes the figures, The Last Word got less than 34,000 - and from what I've seen of it, it's crap - not what I was expecting!

No idea what kind of ratings the West Wing got for E4, but I imagine it's going to be one of More4's ratings bankers.
