OK - so here it is at last. A dodgy start just cutting the promo and going into More4 (for another promo).
The idents - well, I don't think anyone expected "celebrity" idents. Personally, I'm very disapointed with them - though the More4 logo animations look good the first few times, I think they get pretty repetitive very quickly. I'd have rather seen them left to the promos and had something different with the idents.
Talking of the promos - quite surprised me they are very similar in layout to C4 (considering E4's are not!), but I think they'd look better with the Day/Time both in green, rather than having the day in light blue, time in green and programme in white. (PS: noticed on the C4 ECPs More4 programming is done like E4 programming, but with Green text)
And the DOG - personally I found it very annoying how it kept disappearing with dark backgrounds, it just made it look like they were randomly putting it on the screen. Slightly too big IMO, though like the E4 logo it's essentially 14:9 safe, but cropped off when you zoom to 4:3. It did look far better in the bottom right as on the Daily Show - though I don't understand why they didn't get a clean DOGless copy of the show.
The programming - More4 News was very good, though obviously with the dominance of the Pakistan Earthquake, it was not a typhical episode. It looked good and I liked the C4 News remix - something that links it to the programme.
The Daily Show - to be honest I got fed up with it after a couple of minutes and switched to Corrie. Personally I find this sort of programme more suitable to late-night than 8.30pm - it wouldn't surprise if it moves to after The Last Word within a few months.
The Blunkett drama was very good and I hope More4 keeps up it's promise of having original drama films.
I guess the more interesting thing is how many viewers they keep through the week.
To be honest, the only other thing I might watch this week is Touching the Void, though I think More4's strategy of spending most it's budget on landmark programming rather than schedule fillers suggests it expects it's audience to find it a couple of times a week, rather than watch something every night.
Just got an email after an equiry with more4. They say that Downfall will have it's premier by the end of the year
I think it's due in the first month of the schedule.
There are supposed to be some C4 programmes with More4 spin offs, so I'm wondering how long it'll be until we get a cross-promotion trailer, and will the More4 logo get the 3D treatment like E4 does on C4 trailers?
Also, back to the idents. I also find them slightly "dated" (for want of a better word) as they remind me of the former C4 idents which ended last year.

I would called them fashionably and appropriatly retro...
