Is it just me, or does it seem that channel 4, BBC, and ITV, all seem to be aiming at the same target audiences through their 'pioneering' new channels? E4/BBC3/ITV2 (youth programming) M4/BBC4/ITV3 (Mature programming), nothing too outstanding, and usually the same repeats, ITV3 is truely a money making venture, and I'd hate to see the same from M4. It took E4 a long time to get on it's feet, and it's conception (in my opinion) was always just to get Big Brother streamed. Without that power behind M4 I just worry that it'll be unwatchable to begin.
It looks likely then that More4 News will be a "C4 News Extra" type programme in the 8pm slot.
It was always going to be a struggle to schedule the news bulletin. It always had to be around 8-10pm - but realistically they weren't going to sacrifice the 9pm post-watershed slot.
An off-peak bulletin after 11pm or before 6pm may have been an alternative (e.g. an afternoon bulletin at 4pm - something no other non-news channel offers!) - but would be quite unlikely.
Johnson Sr, a Guardian columnist who stood unsuccessfully as a Conservative MP in the last general election, will be joined on The Last Word by comedians Mark Dolan and David Mitchell, best known for Channel 4 sitcom Peep Show, on a rotating line-up of regular presenters.

Johnson Jr will also feature in More4's opening night schedule on October 10, as a character in a drama about David Blunkett's affair with Kimberley Quinn.
The Spectator editor is to be played by Stuart McQuarrie - whose credits include Life Begins, The Way We Live Now and movies Young Adam and 28 Days Later - in the drama A Very Social Secretary.
Bernard Hill takes the role of Mr Blunkett while Victoria Hamilton plays Ms Quinn and Robert Lindsay fills Tony Blair's shoes.

The new documentary series from Super Size Me filmmaker Morgan Spurlock will also get its UK premiere on More4. There will also be a Morgan Spurlock Week of themed programming, during which the American documentary maker will also guest present The Last Word.

US imports The West Wing and Curb Your Enthusiasm will be moving to More4 and will be joined by Jon Stewart's critically lauded Comedy Central satirical news programme The Daily Show.
