The BBC have two muxes (1 and B) - which can't carry commercial programming. (Though the new licence fee settlement seems to imply that the Beeb will have to provide C4 with one video stream and 4 audio streams?) This is full and not available to commercial operations - though the BBC do provide space for The Community Channel.

I think they're obliged to give Five a slot. And S4C2 in wales. What are S4C2's hours? Are they 0700-1200?

S4/C dau/two hours are usually 9am - 5pm Monday - Thursday.

I too pulled out as in the 18 months I was with TUTV I had managed to watch every programme in UK Gold's archive, the only reason I went with them in the first place.

Last I checked that sometime near to or on DSO, Five and S4/C will be both going to the 2nd BBC MUX, I wasn't certain whether S4/C Dai/Two would be going aswell.

Top Up TV is dead, many retailers don't even bother promoting it anymore.
I was looking in the Argos catalogue Top TV is advertised in a footnote and there appears to be no TopTV compatible set top boxes being sold anymore!

If you go around Sainsburys or Tesco's, I have noticed a couple of TopUp boxes available, Tesco were just flogging them for about £25 which is rather reasonable, and the Sainsburys ones had a Setanta Sports promotion on the box.

The Thomson Digital TV Recorder (item 4 on page 358) is the TopUpTV digibox.
