Back in it Hey day ITV spent money (most of the time) like it was going out of fashion! And there helped provide programmes to increase it viewing figures

Now ITV tries in vain to spend as little money as possible, like cheap nasty diy show, and love island!

If ITV actually spent money on programmes I bet there could give us the viewers Great shows,

This goes beyond ITV< BBC does the same as well although some how there managed to waste even more money ( our money ) on cheaper Formats

Just because Sky has well over 400 channel full

A: music videos and films, well ITV never had a lot of them in the first person so no lose of viewers there.

B: classic show, Well if there could easily so them on there main channel!

C: pointless doc, entrainment : Well ITV, BBC has let go of this stick back moon ago there had great doc, and entraining shows, but now there wont spend the money.,

Why do there no longer care! There seem to have giving up hope!

I think we've all given up hope after trying to understand this. Can you translate it into English?

Its amazing how ITV is the main killers of this, yet no one had to pay for it, yet the BBC is doing it, yet no one cares, yet we have to pay for it.

If it was up to me, I would scrap the licencse, however 2nd best would be the TV License money would be shared by all broadcasters, afterall its called a TV license, not a BBC license. I don't see how the BBC should take all. And am I wrong in saying we can get all of BBC's public services elswhere from ITV, Sky and elswhere? They may have a great radio and internet service, but they should have to compete like everyone else.

They then have the cheek to raise it above inflation. Stupid for the Government to allow it.

Yet the Government don't allow us to anything now do they?

We do pay for ITV. Where do you think the money comes from?

Advertisers. Where do the advertisers get their money to fund the channel? The people who watch the adverts. Who watch the adverts? The people who watch channel three. Which network {operates/gains from people watching} the channel? ITV.

In theory, yes. But you really cannot compare that to the license fee. We have to pay for our TV licenses. If I didn't buy anything that was advertised on ITV, I wouldn't be breaking the law, and I'd be able to continue to watch ITV.

I.M.O., it would be very hard to avoid those items (that are fund ITV). The local shops are disappearing, imo, newsagents contain a lot of these brands. I.M.O., unless one lives on a farm, grows their own stuff, builds their own stuff &c., then one is likely to buy at least something from and ITV funder (if that is a word Razz!). I'm sure many 'mainstream' companies, which don't use the television companies to advertise, still have close ties to other companies which do, or advertise on other mediums, which advertise on television (eg. a company advertisers on radio-station-x*, which advertises its services on a television station.).

So the Money which this person spends on the televisoin company, part goes through to advertising on radio-station-x. which later divides this money on its promotions on Concept Independent Television. Concept Independent Television uses this money to create a programme about something good (that people actually watch! … okay, … a reality show which actually doesn't have telephone voting†).

So, imo, the costs the person spends on the initial company, would be higher, because the company has to afford to advertise on radio-station, which has to afford to promote on concept tv.

Going to a more direct link, on the the msg-ridden packet of 'Hikers Crisps', the price would be, imo, higher, so as to pay for the advertising of the product on television. imo, this is a small rise, but still a rise.

*which incidentally broadcasts minority content, of a universal nature :p!
† c'mon, its itv :p!
