Just out of interest does anyone here drink PG Tips? If not, has the advertisement made you consider buying them? I drink Tetley's, but I might give Tips a whirl...and get a monkey.
I do at work but not a home, I have Twinings.
However I am tempted to get one of those monkey's. Good marketing plan PG

Not drunk PG for years, it's too weak. I buy Sainsbury's Assam or Kenyan now. I will buy some if I see the special pack with a monkey - it can be a son for my original ITV digital monkey!
Yes i always start the day with a cup of PG. I can't start the day without a bowl of porridge and a cup of PG with semi skimmed and no sugar. During the day at work i have for the past few months drank Twinnings green tea or mint tea. I used to drink coffee but my teeth were getting badly stained and i always wanted a ciggie with coffee. Now i have pearly whites and i smoke less.
Had to do a Google search to find who Carol Decker was, and having come across her photo, I still dont know!!!
Decker had a hit with "China in your hand" which can be heard playing at the end of the adquote]
There's an echo round here (see one of my earlier posts)
According to Carold Decker the narrative of
China In Your Hand
was based on
Frankenstein
(not tea sadly!). She says that she once was at someone's house, and this person had china crockery. She held a piece in her hand, and she could see daylight through this piece of china.
Thus she remarked to herself how delicate the china was, and she got the idea for the song. "It wasn't the country China, which clearly nobody could hold in their hand. It's too big" she once wryly remarked! Or summat like that anyway.
I can't wait to see the 2nd advert... what do we think it could be about?
I'd love to see Al sat in his chair flicking through channels with the screen staying black and him say "Digital's not working Monkeh!", only for the camera angle to change and show him still using an ITV Digital remote... Monkey sighs...
Sorry for the double post, but the 2nd advert has been seen. Monkey explaining how "nothing but tea leaves and water make PG Tips... and milk... and sugar... and a little button and... oh whats the point!!!"
