It was great to see the monkey back on our screens. The monkey doesn't need a sidekick!

Also, the font used for "Put the kettle on" at the end of the advert, isn't that the same font used for leaflets and posters on ITV Digital?

Great advert, surprisingly long aswell... can't wait to see an old school installment in the next advert sat on the chairs watching the TV.

Oh and in the Al and Monkey interview from PG Tips, Monkey reminded us that he's replaced Chimps and not Monkeys... he doesn't like to get them mixed up does our Monkey!

It was hand written on the TV adverts on a chalkboard, but the printed advertisments and promotions had a very similar (if not that) font to the one used at the end of the new ad.

Carol Decker was the lead-singer of T'Pau, most famous for China in You Hand (as feature on the ad also my fave song) and Heart and Soul in 1987. See CIYH and HAS.

Clearly Liz McDonald got some inspiration for her arrival in Coro a couple of years later. That said Ms Decker has hardly aged, and was still looking good on Just The Two Of Us last week-- I think she has a great personality still

I often wonder why PG Tips got rid of the Twycross monkeys/chimps... now I know why!

I think they need Johnny Vegas as a foil to the "muhnkeh"; in the same way as they need someone to ask the Churchill dog questions, or some dizzy woman for Michael Winner to utter that imortal line to
