Another confusing dredged-up thread where the title needs changing.
Agreed, considering the person who made the latest post started the thread, you'd have thought it would have been done.
I do wonder how long they're going to keep this Gio Compario campaign going for?

For as long people as people keep talking about them, unless they can think of something that would create even more talkability.

Two new ones have appeared,

I have never seen this one:
(GoCompare @ the bus shop)

I believe is very clever
(GoCompare & the Black Hole)

The bus stop advert probably doesn't have a high rotation as it's doesn't have the same effect as the rest of the series. The black hole one is fantastic.

Mr Hawking likes the GoCompare adverts:

Stephen Hawking care of various media outlets posted:
I confess I am a fan of the Gocompare.com adverts, but I am also an opera fan, so I was delighted to be given the opportunity to help save the nation and silence Gio.

"I hope the public find it as funny as I did."

Talking of adverts and killing things off, I notice the meerkats have disappeared and have been replaced by Robert Webb. Shame.

You'd be silly to think they'd gone, they're still talking about "compare the meerkat" in that ad and they've just started appearing on Corrie I believe.

I find Stephen Hawkings involvement in this campaign truly depressing.

What a silly comment, if what I think your suggesting is Stephen Hawking is too much of a low level celebrity, it could have been Amy Childs or anyone.

Why?

For those that work and care for him have all said that Prof Hawking has a great sense of humour - remember (or maybe you don't) he delivered the punchlines and the title card voiceovers in the opening sequence to the wonderful Channel 4 show 'TV Offal' back in the late 90's.

Plus, given his previous advertising apperences has been so 'dry' with talk about planets, black holes and evolving, to appear in this, proves whilst his body is racked with motor nurone disease, the brain is working, and is not above himself to appear in a comedy insurance advert.

If he thought they were poking fun at him, do you think he would have appeared in the ad in the first place?

Are you sure about that?

It's there on Wikipedia so it must be true.

I don't think they are poking fun at him, I don't doubt his sense of humour, and it has nothing to do with his motor neurone disease.

But I find it sad that a figure of his stature is aligned here along the ranks of Louis Spence & Sue Barker in this nauseating & unfunny campaign.

The Simpsons, Futurama, The Big Bang Theory.... and Go Compare, it's a cameo I wasn't expecting, still a great advert, even with his laugh at the end. Laughing
