If...you read this...whilst browsing Sick...ipedia for jokes to use on...'Mock The Week'...Could...someone please tell...Andy Parsons that hesitating after every few words...does not make you...funny.

I especially hate the bits he adds in-between sentences that should be at the end of sentences, or not there at all. Something like:

"We've heard in the news this week... haven't we ...that Iraq...... is on the brink of Civil War"

I never really noticed this until it was mentioned on here, so it will probably irritate the hell out of me the next few times I watch him! Confused

I do think that Dara Ó Briain is an exceptionally talented and quick-witted comedian. This morning I watched a recording of one of his live performances on Comedy Central. I was howling with laughter all the way through. Actually I was laughing so much that the dog got up looking very concerned and left the room. Laughing

I think that Frankie became popular and well known because he was outrageous and people liked that but now he seems to push things too far as if he's trying to become more popular by being more outrageous but it's ending up that it's actually becoming nasty and not funny. He's perhaps looking for his own show as he seems to be trying to turn MTW into "The Frankie Boyle Show"

Yeah I take your point about Frankie. As much as I like him, I've noticed he's started to interupt other comedians... the other week Russell made an amusing quip about Marmite, and was buidling in on it-- then Frankie unfairly butted in and stole Russell's thunder.

Some of FB's jokes are getting meaner I'd agree; but to me they are not unfunny (of course that's down to individual taste): I do admire the way he sticks two fingers up to politcal-correctness and emotional incontinence about things these days-- personally I think it's healthy to laugh at such things... well Frankie is from Glasgow, so what else would we expect of him Wink

He certainly doesn't have a high opinion of Dundee, I note Laughing

Boo to not having a high opinion of Dundee!!! Wink

For some reason, Dundee is one of Frankie Boyle's pet targets, both in stand-up and on MTW? Dundee is one of the few places in Scotland I haven't visited, so I will suspend judegment Laughing I would point out that Frankie comes from Pollockshaws in Glasgow... make of that what you will Wink

Thanks for that article: I like the way "ned" is used casually in a local newspaper report Laughing They've got a 'death wish' hacking into a police website though!

Frankie is always implying Dundee is stuck in a time-warp/lifeless/otherwise backward. Is this a fair assessment? Laughing

I'm pleased to say Hugh Dennis was back on form today with Igor Zuminov, with the farming CIEIO and Libyan place in the sun!

Thankfully Frankie has shaved the beard off Laughing He got in another Dundee joke tonight I note...
