I've just noticed BBC Two are showing a repeat version of Mock the Week. This week was meant to be last in the current series. I take it this hasn't been recorded obviously due to the tragic events this week not being of comic value. In which case, I've just answered my own post and was pointless starting this thread.

Was there an announcement at the start?
Yes a change in schedule due to this weeks events (or something famiular to that)
I think Mock the Week is brilliant. Yes it does mimic HIGNFY slightly in style, but mostly it's completely different. The biggest difference is that the panelists do their own bit of standup in each of the rounds on certain topics and it's brilliant. Since some of them are impressionists like Rory Bremner, we get some good stuff. The posh bloke is also quite funny. Hugh Davis is it?
I watched this the other week and thought it was just another of those derivative, smug panel shows, myself.
I found this one quite entertaining. I usually hate most of them, like Never mind the Buzzcocks and that awful ITV one with Angus Deayton not so long back. Mock the week is up there with HIGNFY in my estimations.
Hugh Dennis (My uncle produced his show with Steve Punt in the mid-nineties), Frankie Boyle, Jo Brand etc etc
Who's that strange bloke with the funny voice, he was a guest on Ian's side on Have I got News... a few weeks before the end of the series and also appeared the other week on Mock the Week?
