Anyone any idea what it is - on Sky Digital (September 2007)

When I tried to programme my Sky Plus box from my mobile, to tape Prison Break next Monday, it gave the option to record it on a channel called MMS1, at 22:15. I set it to record, and it has on my Sky Plus box.

Slight problem, the channel doesn't exist on the EPG, and when I push the (i) button, it says no programme details are available

Has anyone heard of this channel and what it is ??

Is Prison Break on Multistart? Maybe its trying to record from one of the multi start streams? Does the MMS1 channel show when you login to sky.com?

Looks like there is MMS1-8 (all encrypted). The fact that the MMS showing starts at 22:15 would suggest that it is multi start.

Great thanks for clearing that up for me

Presumably there is a 3-way clash on the Sky+ box, and this is the box's attempt at getting around this.

I'd watch the series link like a hawk if I were you -- highly likely it will forget about the next week's ep.

Yes, MMS is multistart I think, which Sky+ can now record. I don't think Sky Anytime by Mobile has been properly updated to use Multistart yet, hence it using the stream name.

Channel 65535? How am I meant to remember that? Where is Tumble Tower with a new channel naming scheme when you need one?

Initially these were used only on the Movie Channels but have now been extended to popular series on Sky One. In addition to the scheduled start time on the channel (eg 8pm) there is a stream of further showings, usually at 15 minute intervals for the next hour or two.

They are selected on screen via the red button.
