Channel 4 this evening failed to play anything between the end of the first part of the Simpsons, and the first programme trailer at the end of the ad break.

Which led to an apology for Gary Terzza over the end credits, so it must have affected all of Channel 4's advertising regions.

Blimey, is Terzza still going? I remember him on Central back in the 80's!

Poor Peter, nothing's going right for him today!

First he was heard calling the Odd-Box programme "b*****ks" due to the fact that his microphone was still on throughout the whole of the programme!
Didn't manage to catch that bit but here are the bits that I did:

Then the line went dead during an interview but good old Dan was on hand to present the weather a few minutes earlier.

Bless, he does tend to flounder with problems, although we never know what confusing messages he's getting barked in his earpiece from the gallery while trying to maintain an informative persona on air.

I noticed that your video was suffering the same effect from fast moving images that my TV capture has been getting for most of this week. I'm glad it's not just me...any idea what's causing it other than low quality broadcasts on DSat (assuming that's where you got it).

Nope, just normal digital terrestrial (Freeview).
I don't think it's anything to do with the quality of the broadcast; I think it must be something to do with how Photobucket encodes/converts them to flash. The same thing seems to happen with all the videos I upload on there with distortion whenever there is fast movement.

Jay Wynne forgot to pick up his clicker on the weather after BBC News at 10 the other night. Unfortunately I'm unable to find a clip but it made him rush throughout the whole forecast.

He had his clicker, he just forgot to nudge to graphics back to the start.

The bottom capture has not been deinterlaced, that's what is causing the distortion on the fast movement. You have to deinterlace before the image is resized from the original 720x576 to prevent this effect.

In most cases it will be down to the capture card to do this, but if you have a DVB card that can save out the raw transport stream then the deinterlace should happen at the point the transport stream is resized and recompressed into flash.

An easy mistake to make during last night's This Week; confusing the Dalai Lama with a GMTV presenter (just moments before the programme fell off air, incidentally)

Similar mistake during last night's News at Ten: the Aston with the UTV News presenter's name appeared during the 'And finally...' report!

This is where it should have been!

Reboot
BBC One Scotland into Jonathan Ross (bearing in mind because of BBC Scotland's idiot scheduling, it's half-an-hour later here as a knock-on from umpteen other moves):

*Ident
*"BBC Clouds" (basically, BBC logo on a picture of some light clouds)
*Error Caption, with announcement
*Clouds
*Caption
*Weather being fast-forwarded
*Clouds
*Caption
*Fast-forwarded pics, running past the title sequence of Ross' show
*Rewind

I gave up in despair at this point.

During the fault on This Week last night, Scotland saw the silent network slide apologising before cutting to the BBC 1 Scotland slide complete with ident music Very Happy

Yeah, when the "apologise for the break in the program" caption (BBC one Scotland-branded) was up on the mega-cockup tonight, the music from the idents got cycled through.
