Anyone who saw CD:UK on Central on Sky this morning will have seen that the video for the adverts dissapeared at about 12.15 but the audio remained. A black screen was shown until a minute before going back into the programme when the VT clock for the next part of CD:UK came up. It remained static then started counting down at 30 seconds.

What happened here? Was Central thrown off air and a clean LNN feed left on instead?

As an aside, does ITV1 have a default region (on analouge)? If one of the regions, say Anglia or Central went completely tits up, what would happen? Would another region belonging to that group of regions just go on air instead. (ie Central went so midlanders would get London instead, or YTV shat up so Granada served them etc.)

Yeah, Carlton Central went offline during the summer due to a power failure. As it was the weekend, LWT was shown instead.

If it all went wrong at YTV, the chances are Granada would also be affected.
So we'd probably get Carlton
