Missing Presentation thread

According to Wikipedia:

“The services' on-screen identity has been generic throughout its existence, and has used no on-screen branding to identify it as ITV London, with the exception of one junction after the launch of the 2003 network rebrand.”

Would this have been the era when “blue and yellow blocks in the countryside” local idents were used on Carlton-owned stations? I haven’t heard of a similar ident being made for London, and that Wikipedia article is the only reference I’ve seen to an “ITV London” ident of any kind.

When Carlton and LWT became ITV1 London, only generic ITV1 idents were used. I believe they generally used London celebs before local shows, and the voiceover said "You're watching ITV1 London", but there was no on screen reference to the capital.

I am pretty certain that after the Sept 2003 refresh there was an ident broadcast a few times with ITV1 London logo on-screen.

So there were branded but not special made then?

This is a new one on me: It looks like a kids ident, it was going into ep of James bond Jr, which would give it the date 94-95

Why wouldn't Central have used the CITV ident instead of these?

I remember that second one - the beach theme - I think it got used before Home and Away a lot. Don't remember the other two though.

It was pretty normal for Granada (pre-YTV continuity at least) to have an ident before CITV. Indeed, they had a doodle sketch ident which was used primarily, if not solely, for CITV junctions.

Please don’t shoot me down if the answer is yes, but is there any video footage around of the 1984 Channel 4 Christmas ident? I believe this was a snowman in the shape of a 4, holding an umbrella, with snow falling around it.

There’s a still image on one of Sid N’s compilation videos - but no video anywhere that I can see.
