Missing Presentation thread

Here's a very vague memory...

In 1993, I recall Granada using a Christmas ident that was swiftly replaced by another one. What I'd seen originally was then used as the Night Time ident.

Here, very briefly at 12 seconds, is the Granada Christmas ident that was used ultimately:


And here, at 32 seconds and not the best quality, is what I'd seen originally, that became a Night Time ident:


I always wondered if what became the Night Time ident was also intended to run as a Granada ident, but was deemed too dark so a replacement was quickly made..?

That (awful) one from 1995 - I’m sure the 1994 one used the same music.

Going over to UTV Every single thing HAR10110289 postage is not missing and i on TV ark... Also Version 3 isnt missing Nor is no4 which is on TV ARK. only Version 2 is missing:

^^ Thanks for that. It's a long version of the ident too with the VO not coming in till a few seconds in. Interesting to note that when they redesigned it for the new lower case ITV logo in 1998 they altered the music to, so that the first note lasts longer. Gives a less triumphant and more wistful feel to the ident...

Thanks for finding that. It's a shame it's so short and mute though. I'm pretty sure it had music. At least it's not totally lost in time though.

Here is two of the Halloween idetnts: ( first two anyways) so that is off the list aswell bar no3.

Nice to see them finally, and to be reminded of a time when BBC2 made special idents for theme nights that would only be used once!
