^That article doesn't say Q is shutting. It says one of their existing channels is, but which one hasn't been confirmed.

This link confirms it though: http://www.brandrepublic.com/television/article/1133462/bauer-axes-q-tv-nearly-12-years-heat-tv/

A great shame, but no surprise, the channel has been on borrowed time since the day some smart arse at EMAP decided to timeshare it with FHM TV, which itself disappeared after a couple of years.

Although Q is the lowest performing I would have thought Smash Hits would have been sacrificed considering it's prescence its nowhere near as big as it used to be.

But having said that all of the Box TV channels have been former shadows of themselves for the last few years now, shame.

Chart Show TV +1 became BuzMuzik yesterday on Sky Channel 382. It's still owned by CSC Media Group which means the phone-in competitions still exist, but there is also heavy emphasis on the Twitter and Facebook interaction. I myself don't like the channel by what I have seen so far as it is too similar to that of Starz TV. It's full of on-screen junk throughout the main periods of the day. Rolling Eyes

There have been a few changes on the Sky EPG today (at least I only noticed today).

One of the psychic channels seems to have closed down. I'm sure there were two of them close to each other on the Sky EPG. Now there is only Psychic Today on 886. The BBC regions and the AD versions of ITV1 and Channel 4 have also moved down about 20 EPG positions. Outside of London, BBC London was on 974 and is now on 954. Channel 4 AD was on 994 and is now on 974. The adult channels and the very few remaining gaming channels have bunched up and moved lower down the EPG a bit too.

The sport channels have also bunched up a bit and there are now spare EPG positions at the high end of the 400s ready for the 48 BBC Olympic channels to use.

It should probably be mentioned that Global who are behind Heart and Capital FM on the radio are launching the brands as TV channels.

Quote:
The UK’s biggest radio group Global Radio is making a move into television with Heart TV and Capital TV.

The two non-stop music channels will launch this September, initially on Sky and Freesat.

Ashley Tabor, Global Founder and Executive President gave the news to all Global employees via video link this morning.

Wasn't there a Heart branded TV channel many years ago?

There was a Classic FM TV, not sure about Heart.

Remember till about 3 years ago it was a London and Midlands only brand.

That's true, I'm just sure I've seen the heart logo on a TV channel

The current one or the older style?

If it's the current one, I don't think that's ever happened. There are plenty of ads for Heart and even Heart Bingo of late.

You may be confusing it with the Heart logo being on screen when its DTT radio channel is tuned in. I remember my local charity shop used to do it on all their TV screens until I pointed out it may cause screen burn in products they wanted to sell...

Also good that it'll be free to air, good news for the Freesat platform.
